The play is multilayered, universal; it touches on many topics. I would not like to restrict myself to the question of AIDS only. Today AIDS is not such an angel of death as then, in the 80. Nowadays we are afraid of illnesses in general, we are paralyzed by them. More than in illness I am interested in this man's soul: what ways of escape he tries, how desperate he is, what physical and spiritual pain he has to overcome to stay alive and not give in.
I would like to tell about our attitude to illness as well. How it is when one of our friends falls ill. What we think about the situation when the sick person is deserted by their closest friend. But this is also a play about our busy world in which family fades into the background. What happens to people who have achieved everything but do not belong to any community?
For me the value of this work is that it enables us to talk about the man in various contexts, in a very perverse way, in dialog with the audience. It is like a breath of fresh air. This theatrical material gives us an opportunity to talk about God, destiny, crime, punishment and our spirituality, of angels. It is a charge of purifying energy.
